I do not understand the measurements used in your descriptions. How would I read, in words, a number written like 45.200000? It looks to me like forty-five point 2 inches, and yet some of the windows look much bigger than the number if read that way. 2. Can individuals (or a family or parish group)buy windows for donation to a church or religious house/community? 3. Can individuals buy windows for a private (home) chapel? Thank you, C. Fleischman
Cornelia: All of the measurements are expressed in inches. If you are inquiring about specific windows, let us know which ones and we will check on them. There are so many windows, it is possible that a dimension is incorrect, but sometimes the scale and size of a window can be deceiving in a photograph. Regarding the sale of a window and who can buy them, the terms of sale are set by the organizations that are offering the windows for sale. Some have more stringent rules than others. Roman Catholic organizations want the windows that they sell to go to another R.C. Church or Seminary, Convent, etc. They will not sell windows for use in private residences. As long as the window goes to a church, it matters not who buys it or pays for it. They may require that a Priest or Sister be involved to confirm the religious destination. Many people have inquired about windows for private chapels, some have even sent architects plans for the Chapels they are building but the Diocese will not sell them Catholic windows. Anglican/Episcopal or Presbyterian Organizations, on the other hand, are less concerned and would entertain offers from private individuals. All of us at the Studio wish you a Great Christmas Season. Daniel: We have sent stained glass windows from the Sacred Window Rescue Project as far away as Australia. Yes, we could send windows to Chile. Joe Beyer
